MAGIC ROCKER BIOGRAFIA


BIOGRAPHY

The three time Chicago Music Award winner and five time Nominee was born and raised in Ghana West Africa. Magic Rocker is Producer, Remixer, Song Writer, Recording Artist, DJ, CEO of Toonga Records/Studio, and Video Director.

Magic Rocker has worked with world renowned Michael Grammy Rose, Frankie Paul, Don Carlos, Anthony B, Spagga Benz, Ava Cherry, Elephant Man, and Lankia.

Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. He started as a DJ on Elma and company a show on Chicago Channel 19 Cable TV. Went on to play at all the major night clubs in Chicago, New York and all over the world. He turned an artist in 2001 and by 2002 he started winning awards all over the world. Currently he is the CEO of Toonga Production and Toonga Records, a recording and video production studio.

Magic Rocker started out as a deejay in Chicago area clubs, quickly gaining popularity and continuing on to deejay in Cincinnati, Dallas, Indianapolis, New York and Washington DC. He also made a name for himself on Chicago’s Channel 19 both as a veejay on Reggae Riddims, and as a deejay on a children’s show called Elma & Company, which won him an award for Outstanding Deejay in 2001.

Magic Rocker released his debut CD, "Restored My Soul" on September 8, 2001 on the label Toonga Records. Since then his album has been widely received in the reggae industry as an innovative, important contribution to the modern reggae scene. In February 2002, "Restored My Soul" was awarded Best Reggae CD/Album of the Year from the 21st Annual Chicago Music Awards, and Magic Rocker was nominated for Best African Entertainer.

He has also just been nominated for Best African Entertainer in the 2002 Chicago Music Awards.

Since its release, "Restored My Soul" has been getting regular airplay on reggae stations across the globe, from Ireland to Turkey, Australia to Ghana, the United States to Colombia. Restored My Soul was rated 1 on the deejays charts for July 2002 by Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide (RAW), an international reggae union.
